Patrick Graham and the Giants Defense Step up to Defeat the NFC West Leading Seahawks.

As the great Bear Bryant once said, "Defense wins Championships," and the Giants defense certainly helped them win this game as they pull of the upset against the Seahawks. The 17-12 victory helped lead the Giants to the top of the NFC East. The MVP of the game was the defense. Against one of the top offenses in the league led by a top 5 quarterback and arguably the best wide receiving duo in the league, the Giants manage to hold the Seahawks offense to 10 points (Seahawks scored a safety for their other 2 points). Russel Wilson had a rare off night, as he threw for 263 yards, a touchdown with a fumble and an interception. The duo of Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf were held for a combined 143 yards and 11 catches. James Bradberry and the back end of this tough Giants defense accepted the challenge of this strong offense and got the stops when they were needed. The MVP of the defense goes to Leonard Williams for this game. The big defensive tackle pressured Wilson all day, and it showed. He finished with 2.5 TFLs, 5 QB hits, and 2.5 sacks, the biggest one coming on a 3rd and 10 at the end of the 4th quarter to force a 4th and 18. Jabril Peppers and Blake Martinez added to their Pro Bowl season as Peppers finished with a sack, 5 tackles, one for a loss, and one pass defended. Martinez added 10 tackles, but went down with an injury during the game. A crucial part of this defense, Martinez will be missed if he is forced to miss time. Joe Judge said more information regarding his injury will come as the week goes on. As vital as the defense was to the victory, the offense certainly did their part. After a rough first of 0 points scored, and 25 rushing yards, the offense turned it up in the second half, as they finished with a 190 yards rushing. Jason Garrett called a brilliant game as the Giants offense was missing its top two weapons in Daniel Jones and Saquan Barkley. The Colt McCoy led offense got crucial third down conversions at the end of the 4th to extend the drive and use up more time on the clock. Wayne Gallman was the lead back as he finished with 135 rushing yards and a huge breakout run in the 3rd to set up an Alfred Morris touchdown rush. Morris got the redzone touches as he had both the Giants touchdown, one receiving and one rushing. Joe Judge stated that Daniel Jones was in a limited practice most of the week, and Judge did not feel comfortable sending Jones out there when he was not 100 percent. Overall the Joe Judge culture is starting to show in this football team, as they have won 5 of their last 7 games and are establishing themselves as a top 10 defense in this league. Hopefully they have Daniel Jones back to take on another powerhouse offense in the Cardinals, led by Kyler Murray and Deandre Hopkins. The Giants have a difficult schedule coming up, and they will need to play some of their best football if they want to stay ahead of the Washington Football Team in the NFC East.
